Rusko & Reso-Lick the Lizard

Guys this is a true banger.....so hard, so dirty, so lemon face, WOMP WOMP WOMP. Thanks again Jordan for playing this for me!

Keb' Mo'-Am I wrong?

This song has a great blues vibe and plenty of rolling rhythm.

Nina Simone-Feeling Good (Dubstep Remix)

Nina Simone-Feeling Good (Bassache dubstep remix)

Nina Simone has been sampled over and over again.  So, naturally its very difficult to bring something new to the scene.  I think that the editing could have been a bit better on this track but overall it is definitly good enough for me to jam to.

Gary Jules-Mad World Chemikal Dub

Gary Jules-Mad World chemikal dub remix

I am a huge fan of the original song so it's hard for me to tell whether or not I like this because of the quality of the remix or just because of the orig. song.  It's good either way.

RUSKO-Da Cali Anthem

RUSKO-Da Cali Anthem
From what i can tell RUSKO is fairly obsessed with the west, especially for a UK DJ.  They are normally kinda stand offish when it comes to America.  Understandably so.  This song samples the classic 2 pac and Dre track California Love with a side of WOMP and POMP.

HAZEY-Fear & Loathing Dubstep
OK OK So there is no video available and I do not have the time to embed a player so just trust me on this one and download it....If you like the movie, Fear and Loathing alone, you will like this.

Logic...Not Here.

For those of you that do not know I am a PROUD father of the coolest two year old on the earth.  Unfortunately for him, I am not with his mother which turns out to be quite nice for me.  Anyway, I have not been able to see him as much as I'd like to for some time because of my job.  I was hoping to see Myles this weekend but he is heading to the OBX with his mom.  So, I thought that I would go ahead and set up next weekend now.  Now, I must provide some background in order for you the reader to fully understand this.  His mother is younger than I am.  She is obviously torn between partying and being a mother as she clearly demonstrates through action.  I left her because of this and general disagreement.  You see when a person uses logic to determine decisions in life they tend to be out of line with those who don't.  She is one of those.  I am by no means saying that i am perfect but I am blamed for much more than I deserve.  For example, I am currently having my son kept from me because "she doesn't like the way I talk to her".  Melodramatic doesn't even begin to describe this one and if it wasn't for the front she put up in the beginning we probably wouldn't be here today.

In all honesty, I am within my boundaries to post pictures and launch a smear campaign, who wants that though.   me  So now I am in a position where I need to take her to court to see my son...what kinda shit is that?  I guess the whole reason I am even writing this is to try and gain some kind of understanding.  I mean normal logic was out the window years ago.  So what is this enigmatic train of thought?  Why is it even tolerated by anyone?  Well the short answer is that to find the long answer I am going to need much more than this blog and life experience.  I mean really, as a mother who is supposed to want the very best for their child, wouldn't you want him or her to see their Father/Mother?  It is baffling to me especially when the reasons given are so trivial.

I hear things through the grapevine all the time about her Mom not being happy with the fact that she watches the children all the time.  Oh yea, she has another son from another guy, I took care of him too.  In reality I should be the one giving her shit.  God knows how many different guys have been around my son as one of "mommies friends".  Sadly enough even though this goes on everyday the law still remains on the side of the mother.  I can tell you from personal experience, I can name at least FIVE girls who either use drugs while pregnant of take their kids in very dangerous spots, the dads are fine but they lost in court.  It's very twisted.  I really can only think of one guy I could blame for the same.  It's true life bullshit.

When it comes down to it, it's not her fault though.  It is what she was taught as a child.  What she picked up from her mentors.  Parents both married and divorced several times.  The cycle continues and that sucks believe me, I am from a divorced family, I know.  I will leave you readers with this.  That is if you have made it this far...I recently was told that someone wanted to do a drive-by with a squirt gun and throw pastries at her (she's a twig).  Just to let you guys know its not just me being bitter.

I just think this is cool.

No Tresspassing

Over the years, throughout my career, there has been plenty of mayhem.  Most of which is was intended to be harmless.  This next photos are places that found me not so harmless.  Of course my opinion is biased but you know...
I guess I'll start with the one that I definitely deserved...Nothing violent...took a plea...layed it down for 9 months.

 McMahons Irish Pub

I call B.S. the owners of this place are haters...I always tipped well...and never got roudy, really no mayhem got me kicked out of this one.  I think it was mostly illicit drug use in the bathroom and graffiti, like I said B.S.

 Molly's Irish Pub
Pretty much same story here, so-called graffiti in the bathroom...either way I have been back since, allowed in and now, I choose not to return.  This place is lame.

Iron Bridge Wine Company

I used to work here bar tending and things went wrong.  Anyway, I am not exactly sure why I can't be in here.  I think mainly because I am a hooligan at times.

Bartleby's Cafe

The owner of this fine establishment is a fake ass faggot, there yea, I'm putting him on blast.  His name is Carl. Jerk.

That is all I am done.  Thank you for your time.

Wanna Hear What's Here?

FISHING
Fishing is made up of a duo of beatmakers out of Sydney.  Russell Fitzgibbon and Doug Wright make up the group. They have some digital releases planned for later this year on Double Denim Records.

GAYNGS
GAYNGS
Relayted CD / 2XLP (JAG165, released: 05/11/10)
When Ryan Olson decided to make a record with Solid Gold members Zack Coulter and Adam Hurlburt, it was clear to them what the result would be: a collection of drugged-up keyboards and slick bedroom production almost exclusively inspired by 10cc's "I'm Not In Love." To be fair, they weren't entirely off. What they didn't know was that it would spiral into a project of epic proportions, enlisting the talents of over 25 musicians from various scenes around the country, relocating the base of operations from Olson's Minneapolis bedroom/studio to the Wisconsin-based studio April Base, and the genesis of a musical family, GAYNGS.

From the moment anyone heard Olson, Coulter, and Hurlburt's rough version of their first composition "The Gaudy Side of Town," they wanted in on it. To most of the players involved, this genre of music was quite foreign yet entirely familiar. Olson knew this, and began calling upon an eclectic cast of contributors whom he thought would share his vision, and relish in the idea of exploring uncharted musical territory within them. The first people to join the cause were North Carolina's Megafaun (Joe Westerlund, Brad Cook, Phil Cook), and with them came Ivan Howard (The Rosebuds), and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and Mike Noyce. By mid-2009 the studio sessions were becoming more and more frequent, bouncing back and forth between April Base and Olson's bedroom. In Minneapolis, Olson brought in Rhymesayers rapper P.O.S and his fellow Doomtree artist Dessa, psych-rockers Jake Luck and Nick Ryan (Leisure Birds), song-birds Channy Moon-Casselle and Katy Morley, jazz-saxophonist Michael Lewis (Happy Apple, Andrew Bird), retro-pop duo Maggie Morrison and Grant Cutler (Lookbook), and slide-guitarist Shön Troth (Solid Gold).

Vocally, GAYNGS is a triumph. Zack Coulter (Solid Gold) shines from the jump, floating over the record with his airy, haunting melodies. Fans of Bon Iver will recognize Vernon's familiar falsetto, but will flip when they hear his Bone Thug's-style R&B. Ivan Howard sounds right at home with his sensual and breathy leads, while P.O.S. abandons his genre entirely for a soul inspired tenor. With over a dozen people contributing vocals, its incredible how cohesive the album sounds.

After a year of tracking and mixing, GAYNGS is officially ready to release the album, entitled "Relayted." The initial goal was achieved perfectly, yet "Relayted" sounds refreshing and modern. With each song written at 69 BPM's, and tripped-out transitions from song to song, it is truly an audio experience from start to finish.

Watch for GAYNGS to erupt this coming spring.
I have recently discovered this band...The ambiguity of their name suggests the obvious play on words but is that the intended message.  Who knows? Frankly, I don't care.  What I do know this I must see them live as soon as possible...
I am a hip hop head at heart but I cannot put this album down....

BIGGER STRONGER FASTER GROWING PLANTS!!!
This is really cool IMO.  This is definitely on some Sci Fi! Space veggies yo, space veggies....I think Canadia has finally conributed something worthwhile to the world.
actual use may vary.

Two of Every Animal....

It's time again America for another super group.  Aesop Rock (Ian Bavitz) who resides currently in SF has teamed up with Cage (Chris Palko) a NY resident.  Both formally on the label Definitive Jux (NY), these two really can't go wrong together.  Cage's last album was a huge disappointment to his fan base as well as the label.  That's all I have to say  because that's all I truly know.  Regardless of what has happened in the past...This group is sure to be great.  Cage is recently hungry again and Aes is a consistent dude, there can only be great things from this project.  I will keep on posting new info as I get it and hopefully this excites some of you as much as me.

Gone so long, but here all along.

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit thing round here have been a little hectic to say the least.  Recently I have found my self liking hip hop less and less.  There is just too much garbage to dig through on the average day.  What is going on here? I suppose it's your fault for buying 'em.  Yea, you could say that.  I suppose it's the fault of controlled medias.  Yep, you are correct.  But is it the end?  Probably not.  I am a huge fan of music in general as many of my friends are.  We all share an open mind and accept unusual song with a strange familiarity.  You could call it "Backpack Rap" you could call it "Underground" that's a bit more dangerous sounding, whatever you call it, I'm sure you can agree it isn't what it used to be.  I listen to this brand because of creativity and hunger.  Now I feel like its completely gone...I have even heard several emcees, no fuck that, tons of emcees say they don't even listen to rap.  Obviously anything on the radio for the most part can be counted out.  IMHO.  Anyway, all I am saying is get your self together, it's time for a return.  Here are some scraps I have found that have made the cut!

Intalek

Great song about making money, personally I would use it to get up and at it in the mornings, the beat is fast paced and rolling.  This is the second leak from the Lives and Vibes EP from Intalek and Ritchcraft that will be dropping on 7.5.10.  The album seems like it is going to be a very solid piece of work.
Intalek & Ritchcraft-Everyday Money

Kissed Her Little Sister, Not me, Him.

Oh man, I was soooo happy when I came across this song.  It is very likely one of the best remixs I have ever heard.  Not only does it consist of like four or five very good songs, but it is actually well done, which is rare to find these days.  This is the only song I have by Kissed Her Little Sister-Cocaine.  Enjoy!

Kissed Her Little Sister-Cocaine

Decoration

I'm sure at some point someone is going to get offended....That was my disclaimer by the way.  Girls....where to start?  I can exclude most of the women that I know but on a whole there is something terrible taking place.  I am going to take a second to try and explain this.  There is a huge divide between a real woman and what is portrayed through TV, magazines etc.  I in all honesty feel terrible for women I mean they are told that they are not acceptable unless they are a certain model number and size.  Now in some cases this is a necessary approach,

but with most it is quite unnecessary and possibly damaging over time...I am not sure how I would have turned out if I lived in a world that worships people like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.  Whats that I do?  Well yes, I do but i choose to tune out and even go as far as not admitting that these atrocities exist.  Ok so we have both sides of the spectrum to look at now.  On one side the is a way of life where you are happy with yourself while being left out by many because of you choice.  On the other side you have an overly anxious, self absorbed, money flusher but hey, she looks "hot" and is accepted  by others chasing the same illusion.  So who is to blame? Society as a whole?  Men?  Women? Corporations or media?  There is no single answer because society has interwoven these factors all together.  I am going to place examples of beauty and examples of horror all from the lens of my own eye.

Paris Hilton:GROSS!

Kari from Mythbusters: Beautiful HA!

Lindsay Lohan at her finest, siiiiiiiick:
Mary Louise Parker:
I will admit on the last one she does play a bit of a hooker on Weeds.

Anyway, enough examples you know what i am saying.  Whats worse is that this fact about American culture saddens me and I am not even involved and actively try to block it out.  Real girls rock but please don't be like either of the women in the first picture.

HAIL MARY MALLON

With the recent decline of one of the greatest labels in Hip Hop, many assumed that this was the last we would hear from them, fans don't look now but......HAIL MARY MALLON!  Aesop Rock along side Rob Sonic with DJ Big Wiz on the wheels!  Supergroup, IMO.  I was fortunate enough to see these guys all together live back in the winter of '09 at the 9:30 club.  I spoke to Aes about the possibility of side projects and he grinned and said we'll see.  At the time I had no idea that this was already in the works, frankly I felt badly because I probably came off as some Backpacker.  Who knows?  All I know is that if I was the emcee it would prob sketch me out if a fan came up and knew about something that wasn't even public knowledge.....In any case, this wasn't the case, just a coincidence.  They have "leaked" a number of videos and one song.
"D-Up"-Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz:

These kids are so funny.....
Anyway point being, keep your ears to the floor and wait to hear the rumble, then go cop it!

I wish this was MY haus.....Berlin!

:AFTER

Ok, ok lets be realistic.  If I did this in the part of VA that I live in, George Bush's Fathers Mothers cousin would prob have something to say....damn conservatives.  The Turmkunst Project started when the owners invited Honet of Paris, Sozyone of Spain, Flying fortress of Hamburg and Craig Costello of New York.  Overall it took the crew two weeks to complete.  The colors are wonderful, so many times paint schemes go wrong with bad color choice.

BEFORE:
Here is the crew, see that glint in their eyes?

CHIN CHIN

Torbitt Schwartz (drums, vocals), Jeremy Wilms (guitar, vocals), and Wilder Zoby (vocals, keyboard) are the core trio of musicians that make up the Chin Chin.

These guys are great and a ton of fun to see live. I am not sure what their future holds now Def Jux is no longer but I am sure they all have more to give….Wilder Zoby that’s you.
