Ekundayo and mike flo "The Offering"

Last month I posted about an Atlanta based MC named Ekundayo that really impressed me and today we get another free offering from him and MC Mike Flo (who is also Dead Prez' DJ). Ekundayo and Mike, known together as Alive & Well, tackle known beats from Madlib, Full Crate, FS Green, Jansport J, Kanye West, Nicolay, Flying Lotus, as well as some freshly made productions.

Nacho Picasso

I am new to this Emcee and have been very impressed with his work.  The beats are solid, while the lyrics remain intelligent, with a rolling poly syllabic pace.  I hope at this point most of you can take my word for it, as far as quality is concerned, I'd like to think that I would never steer you wrong.

Until today, I've never heard of Nacho Picasso out of Seattle, Washington (Thanks, Sniper). But with the otherworldly production duo Blue Sky Black Death and Raised By Wolves behind him, Nacho has the potential to be an instant smash hit with underground hip hop heads and swag rap aficionados alike.

On my second go around with his new free album For the Glory, I have officially become a fan of Nacho's nonchalant talk-rap delivery and voice reminiscent of Luckyiam on lean. At first, Blue Sky Black Death/Rasied by Wolves' overwhelming and vaporous production was overshadowing Nacho's presence, but eventually my ear caught up to his original wit and punchlines. To me, this is one of Blue Sky Black Death's best collaborations with an MC, crushing the output of Jean Grae, Hell Razah, and artists featured on A Heap of Broken Images. With the popularity of acts like Asap Rocky, Main Attrackionz, Clams Casino on the rise, Picasso, BSBD, and Raised by Wolves have an undeniable chemistry that rivals the output of these guys on the opposite coast.

Uptown XO

Welcome back to my blog, my meek following, I have missed you all....I have finally re located and I am ready to get back at it.  I am so sorry for the wait and thank you to all of you that sent e mails.  I am going to start out with an album from a local DC Emcee.  Uptown XO is some of the best local talent that I have had the honor to discover.  IMO, he is better than Wale and Tabi (that's not too say that a collabo wouldn't be great) but he hasn't received the same exposure.  I highly suggest that you give this album a listen, no matter where in the world you are, no matter what language you speak, you will understand this project.  ENJOY!
